PKA's Commitment to the Future

Continuing education of PKA members and the mentoring of aspiring new knifemakers are important aspects of the PKA. It may surprise some to learn that even after 20 or more years of making knives, there is still more to learn, new methods to try, new vistas to explore. To this end, PKA members happily share their know-how with other members and with other knifemakers wanting to become members.

Training seminars and live demonstrations are a vital part of the Annual PKA Knife Show experience. During normal show hours, PKA courses covering a wide range of knifemaking skills are available to attendees. Before and after the show each day, courses are also available exclusively to PKA members, covering such topics as Marketing, the Internet and E-commerce, Collector Buying Trends, Supplier Reviews, and General Chat Sessions.

Also, many PKA members attending state and local knife shows, especially those shows co-sponsored by the PKA, are available for informal training programs on various topics of interest to beginning and intermediate knifemakers. Organizing bodies and show sponsors should contact the PKA for co-sponsorship information plus a list of PKA members who offer such courses in exchange for table fees.
