BIBLIOGRAPHY

This is my 25th year of knifemaking. I have been a voting member of the Knifemaker’s Guild since 1988. I enjoy attending the Blade Show, the Guild Show, and the Professional Knifemakers Show in Denver. As a hunting guide in western Wyoming in the late 70’s, I quickly realized the field processing of moose, elk and deer took the right kind of knife. Factory choices available on the market were quite limited. This fueled my search for a better knife, which in turn led me to the start in a lifelong endeavor to become a knifemaker. There were many along the way, but it was Gene Baskett who answered questions and helped with problems I had. For that I am grateful.

Both fixed blades and Ti liner locks fill my production schedule, natural handle material, i.e. ivory, fossil mastodon and walrus, stag and desert ironwood are favorites. ATS-34, 440C and Devon Thomas or Mike Norris Damascus steel are used.
